ADVENTUROUS, ROMANTIC
10-DAYS ALL INCLUSIVE GREAT MIGRATION CALVING SAFARI
This all-inclusive ten-day wildebeest migration safari takes place during the calving season from December to March. The animals begin their cycle in the southern Serengeti, near Ndutu, following the grass as it grows. While we have a good idea of where the wildebeest will be, their movement depends on rainfall. You will stay in luxury lodges and tented camps.
Experience the thrill of the Great Migration as thousands of wildebeest and zebra move across the Serengeti in search of food and water. This safari focuses on the exciting calving season, where you can witness new life in the wild.

DAY 1
Arrival Arusha
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our airport representative will meet and greet you, assisting with immigration formalities and welcoming you with refreshments. Afterward, you'll meet your guide and transfer to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay.
Arusha is a Tanzanian city situated at the base of the volcanic Mt. Meru, serving as a gateway to safari destinations and Africa's highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m).
DAY 2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at the hotel and a brief safari orientation, you’ll set off for a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park. At lunchtime, your driver will prepare a hot meal, including soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, along with a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. We'll continue our game drive into the evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.
Tarangire National Park is a serene destination in northern Tanzania, renowned for its elephant migration, birdwatching, and authentic safari atmosphere. Many travelers either skip Tarangire entirely or spend only a few hours there, leaving much of the park untouched.
DAY 3
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you'll embark on a walking safari with an armed ranger. Later, you’ll enjoy a game drive until lunch, when your driver will set up a table for a hot meal of soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we’ll continue our game drive into the evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.
In Tarangire, herds of up to 300 elephants dig in the dry riverbed for underground streams. This park boasts the highest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, providing abundant opportunities for predators. It's also one of the few places in Tanzania where you can regularly spot dry-country antelope, such as the elegant fringe-eared oryx and the unique long-necked gerenuk.
DAY 4
Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast at the camp, you'll transfer to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game driving. At lunchtime, your driver will set up a table for a hot meal, including soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After enjoying a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we'll continue our game drive until evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Lake Manyara offers an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife, with over 400 species recorded. Even first-time visitors can expect to see around 100 species in a single day. Inland from the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is home to Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions and impressive tusked elephants.
DAY 5
Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you'll head into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. At lunchtime, your driver will prepare a hot meal of soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After enjoying a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we'll continue our game drive until evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.
The highlight of Ngorongoro is its deep volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. Spanning about 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and covering 300 square kilometers, the Ngorongoro Crater is a stunning natural wonder. We’ll visit Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which attracts numerous flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.
DAY 6
Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you’ll depart for Ndutu in the southern Serengeti for a full day of game driving. This marks the beginning of our experience with the Great Migration. At lunchtime, your driver will set up a table for a hot meal, including soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After enjoying a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we’ll continue our game drive until evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.
You’ll explore various habitats, including swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the iconic Serengeti short grass plains. Expect to see vast herds of wildebeest and zebra. In February, over a three-week period, most of the wildebeest will calve, and the open grasslands offer little cover, making the young calves vulnerable to predators.
DAY 7
Southern Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at the camp, you’ll embark on a game drive in the Ndutu area, exploring the grassy plains and woodlands. You’ll track herds of wildebeest and zebra and have the chance to witness new calves being born. Keep an eye out for predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas on the hunt. At lunchtime, your driver will prepare a hot meal of soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After enjoying a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we’ll continue our game drive until evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the camp.
The Great Migration is what makes the Serengeti truly famous. Each year, over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras migrate south from the northern hills to the southern plains during the short rains in October and November. After the long rains in April, May, and June, they move west and north. Their ancient instinct to migrate is so strong that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can deter them.
DAY 8
Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll set out on a game drive in the Serengeti to search for big cats and the “Big Five.” At lunchtime, your driver will prepare a hot meal, including soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After enjoying a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we’ll continue our game drive until evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Today, Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve (across the border in Kenya) together protect the largest and most diverse collection of terrestrial wildlife on the planet, as well as one of the last great intact migratory systems.
DAY 9
Central Serengeti National Park
In the early morning, you'll enjoy a hot air balloon ride. After landing, you'll celebrate with champagne and a hearty breakfast, followed by a game drive in search of big cats and the “Big Five.” In the afternoon, your driver will set up a table for a hot meal of soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad. After a glass of wine, tea, or coffee, we’ll continue our game drive until evening. You’ll conclude the day with a sundowner picnic, enjoying drinks and snacks before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 10END OF YOUR SAFARI

After breakfast at the lodge, you’ll go on one last game drive in the Serengeti before being transferred to the Seronera airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. You’ll be transferred to the Arusha Coffer Lodge for a day room and lunch before heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. All meals included
